Latest News
Vernon 1 - 3 Bridgehouse

After last weeks wash out, the Bridgehouse now travelled to Barking Park to play mid table Vernon. With Barry Kelly likely to be out for around a month with an arm injury the door was well and trully openeed for new signing Ian Buttery to make his debut in the sticks. The only other real change to the side saw Gary Sutton return the partner the Frenchman up top after a two week lay off.

All the goals came in the second period with Danny Abela scoring straight from a corner, Didier Loiseau walking round the goalkeeper and Charlie Ryan completing to scoring.

Ian Buttery GK 7
will be pleased with his overall performance apart from the goal where he was clearly stuck in two minds as whether to come off his line or stay put but all in all a good show from the reserve team keeper.

Scott Bowak RB 7
A solid game from the ever dependable full back. Put in some crucial tackles when needed and supported Morgan well when going forward. The best of a lacklustre back four on a boggy pitch.

Matt Roast LB 6 (sub 65mins)
An okay performance at left back for the gaffer. Looked a little bit out of sorts in the first half hour but stepped up his game and linked up well with Jamie Ryan on the left hand side. Came off midway through the second half with a slight knee injury.

Wayne Hill CB Capt. 6
Not at the races today, a better side would've punished some of the sloppy defending from the captain. On the other hand he still won every header, even without his booming war cry.

Andy Ryan CB 6
Turned up looking green and a couple of errors came creeping back into his first half performance. A better second period for the strong centre half and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet with a towering header from a Wes Morgan corner.

Jamie Ryan LM 7
Struggled with the boggy pitch and found the going tough but got into his stride in the second half, causing the Vernon right back all sorts of problems with his lengthy stride, set up his brother Charlie for the all important third goal.

Wes Morgan RM 7
A couple of cracking crosses in the first half and several corners in the second half. He was more involved today than he has been so far this season. When the ball is at his feet he can deliver cross after cross but really could've skinned his marker time and again today.

Danny Abela CM 8
A typical central midfield performance from the Player of the Year capped with a cheeky goal straight from a corner. Along with his midfield partner they pulled the strings in the first 45 and only got better as the game went on.

Charlie Ryan CM 8
Got the goal his game deserved, worked hard for very little pay back in the first half and looked like he was going to be left frustrated as the game went on but walked into the box with a few minutes to go and took his goal with relative ease.

Didier Loiseau CF 7 (sub 80mins)
Saw a different side to the Frenchman this morning as his temper got the better of him but showed his true grit and determination to walk through a weak offside trap and round the keeper to score his fourth of the season.

Gary Sutton CF 9 ***Man of the Match***
A great game for the returning Sutton, he held the ball up really well, won every header and flick on that came his way. The only downside to his game today was that he didn't walk away with a hattrick as well.

SUBSTITUTES

Scott Oakwell LB (for Matt Roast) 6
Did well when he came on, strong in the tackle as always.

Bradley Lay CF (for Didier Loiseau) 5
Came on for the last 10 minutes and ran around chasing down everything.
